17. A few things

I watched the events unfold...

1. No such thing as a peaceful Nazi/racist.

2. The Khaki Klan Nazis carried shields & wore protective goggles and helmets. One was in a bike helmet. One was wearing swim goggles. I even saw makeshift sticks/spears. A few had on flak vests. If their intent was peaceful - why dress for battle?

3. The Nazi/Racists - some of them had makeshift shields big enough for more than one person to hide behind. A couple of them I saw were made from attached wooden doors. There were bars attached for the monsters to move and shift the equipment. I saw people tossing bottles and then ducking behind the homemade full body shield. This was the kind of large shield used for ramming forward - pushing people out of the way while attacking, and still being protected.

4. When a group of people get together to spout hate, they are doing it to rile people up. It's not to exercise a right. Sure, they have a legal right to express their views but they don't gather to celebrate that right - they gather to loudly proclaim their racism. To be able to use hate speech with their voices amplified through a microphone and media coverage. The more peaceful the event, the less coverage. Back to number 1 - there are NO peaceful nazis/racists.

They gather to intimidate. They gather to cause fear. They gather to let others know they are there. They gather as a warning.
