Remember when we had a president who gave speeches that didn’t have to be immediately denounced/apologized for?
Remember when we had a president whose statements didn’t have to be “explained” after-the-fact by his spokes-people?
Remember when we had a president who placed competent, experienced people in positions of power and influence?
Remember when we had a president who spent his days working for the people, instead of watching TV and tweeting?
Remember when we had a president who was respected the world over, instead of being the butt of jokes around the globe?
Remember when we had a president who could spell, and had a vocabulary consisting of more than 400 words?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t hand classified information to the Russians during “private meetings” in the Oval Office?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t lie every single day of his presidency?
Remember when we had a president who never wasted his time (nor ours) arguing that his inauguration was bigger than his predecessor’s?
Remember when we had a president who condemned violence, bigotry and hatred, instead of inciting it and/or excusing it?
Remember when we had a president who could speak eloquently on any topic, instead of tweeting covfefe?
Remember when we had a president who was never under investigation for colluding with our enemy, or "laundering" their money?
Remember when we had a president who never cheated people out of their money by refusing to pay them for their work, or through a fake “university”, or a fake “charitable foundation”?
Remember when we had a president who took responsibility for everything that happened “on his watch”, and didn’t blame everyone else when things didn’t go his way?
Remember when we had a president who, despite disagreeing with them, always treated his Republican opponents with respect?
Remember when we had a president who never in a million years would have accused his predecessor of having committed a felony based on no evidence whatsoever?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t send his know-nothing family members to represent our country at international meetings?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t fire people because they were investigating his “Russian ties” – better yet, remember when we had a president who didn’t have any “Russian ties” to be investigated?
Remember when we had a president who based his decisions on what was best for ALL Americans, instead of just trying to please his “base”?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t use his position as POTUS to make money for his own “brand”?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t “change his story” from one minute to the next because he’d been confronted with proof of his own lies?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t outsource jobs while claiming to be the champion of those whose jobs had been outsourced?
Remember when we had a president who responded immediately and decisively to acts of domestic terrorism, and didn’t hide behind the “well, everybody does it” meme?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t praise Putin at every opportunity, or actually thank him for taking actions against us?
Remember when we had a president who dazzled the world with his ability to speak coherently and intelligently on any subject, instead of astounding the world with his incoherent “tweets”?
Remember when we had a president who did everything in his power to unify us as a nation, instead of sowing divisiveness among the citizenry?
Remember when we had a president who spoke about the concerns of our country, instead of himself?
Remember when we had a president who never caused you to fear nuclear conflagration triggered by a fake news story he’d heard on FOX-News?
Remember when we had a president who didn’t fabricate praise-filled phone calls from
people who never made those calls?
Remember when we had a president who understood how government works, took the responsibilities of his office seriously, and acted like the leader of the free world instead of a self-absorbed, totally clueless buffoon?
We are only six months into The Idiot’s tenure in office, and yet it seems so long ago that an intelligent, articulate, well-informed real president was sitting in the Oval Office. I guess time goes by quickly when you spend all of your waking hours wondering what the fuck that Idiot is going to say or do next – and how our country, and the world at large, will survive his obvious insanity.
Stay united – stay strong. Fight back – resist. It’s our only chance to survive – not only as Democrats, but as a nation.
