Dem lawmaker: It took three days of 'crushing public pressure' for Trump to condemn Nazis

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) tore into President Trump over his slow response to condemn white supremacists after a counterprotester was killed following a Charlottesville, Va., rally.

“All it took was 3 days of crushing public pressure for @realDonaldTrump to finally muster the courage to condemn nazism & racism,” Ryan tweeted Monday.

One person was killed and more than a dozen others were injured when a man drove his car into a crowd of "antifascist" protesters at the rally Saturday. The alleged driver, James Fields, has been arrested. Photographs from the rally show him on the side of the neo-Nazi groups.

Trump condemned racism in a public statement Monday, two days after the rally. Trump had initially blamed “many sides” for the violence that broke out at the event, drawing massive backlash from lawmakers from both parties who insisted he specifically denounce the white nationalists at the rally.

There's enough photo evidence at this point to say with certainty that James Fields was the driver. The only possible remaining questions are related to how deliberate it was and was it premeditated. If I had to guess, he's going to go with the "I feared for my life defense."

This racist President would have NEVER made that speech if left to him. Someone pulled the strings and pushed the button. My guess....his daughter.
