DVR'ed Rachael Of Last Night & Listened To Mayor Of CVille....

make comments about his city & the unrest over the weekend. He said all the right things but one thing I just can't get over is why there wasn't an immediate show of force by the police? You have a Dem Governor & this Mayor that speak out about this violence after the fact - but why didn't they try to nip it in the bud before it got so out of hand? If there was an immediate show of force against these supremacists they might have been able to prevent the deaths of three people. Am I missing something here? Somebody please help me understand.

Or a Native American group taking a stand we know what would happen.
We've seen it.

Why aren't the state and local officials being grilled over this?

I just skimmed it and didn't save the link, but the article said that they were cautious because of the amount of firepower those guys were carrying. Wish I'd saved the link to listen to the interview for myself

wasn't the National Guard even called up?

I remember water cannons, tear gas, armored vehicles of all kinds. There was more than enough fire power shown by law enforcement. I'm sorry - watching the altercations going on in CVille - there was almost no presence of law enforcement at all - until it was too late. I still think that the authorities - dropped the ball.

4. Gov. McCauliffe said the police were outgunned and that is why they were reluctant to jump in.

If that's the case, then the obvious cure is to not let the whacoos have such easy access to guns and walk around with them. Especially at political demonstrations. Plus, this may sound cruel but that is what a cop signs up for. If our military always thought this way, you never would have heard of Bunker Hill or the Alamo.
