What would have happened if the police had acted in the present of these armed militias with assault weapons that were most likely loaded? It is a miracle that someone was not shot in this chaotic situation. The militias were certainly present as an intimidation factor.

A member of Antifa was shot at a Milo event if I remember correctly.

The militia part is secondary in this area. They are armed no matter their outward appearance. You did hit it out of the park by referencing them as an "intimidation factor". It is in-line with the terrorist aspect of their movement.

They can be armed and assemble. Yet, these armed protesters are making a case that they are not a peaceable assembly. It's becoming obvious that they want violence. That may be why the Sept. 11 protest at Texas A&M was cancelled.
