My Vent of the DAY: IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE FOR CLINTON, FUCK YOU. YOU are just as guilty.

Last edited Tue Aug 15, 2017, 04:01 PM - Edit history (1)

As any Trump voter.

Anyone with a brain knew a year ago this would happen. Anyone with a brain knew that Trump was:

Racist
White-Nationalist
Nazi-sympathizer
Anti-Woman
Anti-Equality
Anti-Constitution
Anti-Environment
Unqualified to deal with foreign crisis
A Grifter that would rip-off the taxpayers

No one with any amount of intelligence has ANY excuse for not voting for Clinton.

"I don't cut people out of my life based on who they vote for."

I've seen that mindless slogan parroted many times on FB and elsewhere. They love it, because they think that it gives them some moral high ground (while enabling them to maintain their support for Nazis).

The response, of course, is this: "I'm not cutting them out because of who they vote for, but because of the values and beliefs that they demonstrated by voting as they did. Their choice of candidate is a symptom, not the disease."

Of course Trump most certainly is a disease, but that's simply a coincidence in this case.

About half of the staff nurses and front desk personnel at the pediatric office where I work as a nurse practitioner voted for Trump. They were dancing around the office the morning after the election/installation, and openly dissed one of the other staff nurses for voting for HRC. She almost quit. I composed a letter for the managing partner to send out to everyone encouraging people to be circumspect about their personal politics and to be gracious winners as well as gracious losers. I would have been thrilled if HRC had been elected, but I would not have openly celebrated it at work.

I maintain civil interactions because I must - I have to ask these people to do things for the patients I examine and treat, and it would be a mess trying to get things done if I expressed open disdain for them and their views. Things are cordial, generally even cheerful, but my opinion of them has changed, and I generally confine my "chit chat" to colleagues whose philosophy is similar to mine. Fortunately, there are enough - 2 of the nurses, and all the pediatricians I usually work with.

There have been times when the office staff has socialized together after work. Hasn't happened recently, and I doubt I would go in the future. I try to minimize the number of times I have to keep my lips zipped because it is becoming harder to do.

And I'm better off for it.

Granted, I can't simply jettison coworkers or neighbors, but I strictly limit my exposure to them, to the extent possible.

I absolutely believe that others do not have the same opportunity to do so, and that's entirely understandable.

could vote for Trump, a man who would deprive people of health care. I am married to a retired RN and my daughter is an RN. They both voted for Hillary, as did every RN I know.

There is a very well respected Anasthesiologist at the hospital who early in the campaign told me he thought Ben Carson would make a great president. Astounding.

Oh, don't forget being against "political correctness." That's the other excuse. You know, despite being so-called Christian, the golden-rule-like political correctness is the great and powerful excuse that's still in use and ironically, still, politically correct.

I basically agree, although I get that many people were feeling disgruntled with the DNC for various reasons, and many of those people were mislead as to what could happen by not voting for Hillary. Not to excuse anyone for enabling Trump.

At any rate, if we don't turn into a single-party state, there can never be an excuse after this.

Going forward, democrats, independents who are left-leaning, and republicans too disgruntled with their own candidate, after a period of open and honest debate, need to make it a point to rally around the candidate with majority support among us. And we all have to collectively make that commitment to a single candidate at some point in time prior to polls opening, for every election.

how about those voters who didn't vote at all.

Estimates show more than 58 percent of eligible voters went to the polls during the 2016 election, nearly breaking even with the turnout rate set during the last presidential election in 2012, even as the final tallies in states like California continue to be calculated, according to statistics collected by the U.S. ...Nov 20, 2016

If you voted for anyone except our candidate or didn't vote at all makes you guilty of allowing this sociopathic narcissist to ruin our country. I do not speak to my Repub friends very much anymore since I have no respect for them. They are to blame and I hold them accountable for this crisis. This goes for the friends who didn't vote at all too.

I hold every voter and media personality who gave his candidacy one ounce of legitimacy last year accountable. (everyone but Rachel, Lawrence, and Maher)

Did a massive purge of Facebook friends last night if they even posted once about T.rump. Cut off communication with my racist brother and his wife. Changed dentists, hair dresser, car repair place, restaurants that either have Fox News on or know (in dentist's/hair dresser's case) that they support this POS presidency. Also vocally let them know why on the way out. Broke social ties with many friends who voted for him, no energy for that.

Still speaking to parents as they're elderly and in declining health. But everyone else who had a hand in this national catastrophe is DONE.

I should though. Since I am ill now they probably think it is due to my health.

If more people were like you and boycotted business for this reason that would have a serious impact on the next election. They live for money, money, money (and are mean and selfish too). If it hit them in their precious bank accounts it would wake them up. On National Women's Day I supported Women's rights and equality and didn't buy anything and re-arranged appointments to my doctors so I wouldn't support them financially. If all women did this (51% of population) it would've made a big impact but very few did.

I'm so tired of listening to declared progressives trying to justify their vote for anyone else. Sanders wasn't on the ballot in the general election. If you supported what he espoused, you should have voted for Hillary, like he told you to do.

Staying at home rather than voting for Hillary was a win from Trump, and you all knew that going in.

Voting for Jill Stein was a dick thing to do, and you all knew it. Because you forgot one very important thing: Protest votes don't work!

If you stayed home on election day, or voted for anyone other than Hillary Clinton, you wanted Trump to win. Bottom line. Don't even try to tell me anything different.

who stayed home, voted Stein, or who did a write-in, instead of voting Democrat.

But they are getting what they want. Don't be confused about it. The extreme left desires political violence, chaos, and polarization.

It is "Hitler First, Then Us" in action.

In any way. This whole mess is on anyone who voted for that piece of shit, for whatever reason. There were numerous, very telling behaviors on display during the 2016 campaign. Any soul with an ounce of good judgement shouldn't have backed this preening buffoon.
