Abbeville, South Carolina is a town that local anti-racists should consider checking out.

I was born just down the road from Abbeville, South Carolina. It is just down the road from where I was born.
It's where the Confederacy was born and where, thank God, it died. There's a park called Secession Hill. If you attempt to enter the park or visit a memorial to an unknown Alabama Confederate soldier that is located there you will be monitored by vagrants who seem to be racist and will demand that you leave. I had this experience as a youth. Haven't been there in a while. Hopefully in 2017 this has changed. But from recent experience I have my doubts. If courageous protestors want to enter the eye of the storm I recommend they go there.
