Bill Moyers, appropriately, used mythopoetic imagery. The whole conversation was very striking. Hekate Aug 2017 #8

His parents must have made clear they preferred his brother.. who suffered an untimely death due to alcoholism. I bet that's a story, there.

They finally sent little Donnie off to military school because he was unmanageable. Hard to tell whether family dysfunction turned him into the hot mess he is today, or whether he was a bad seed from birth.

It was in his eyes from the beginning. He was a bad seed. He wasn't "damaged" or "hardened" by military school, as many are. He had the same look in his eyes in his youth that he has today.

I've known a few bad seeds in my time. Once you've known them, it becomes easier to spot others.

I think Moyers has the most succinct and eloquent take on Trump that I've heard to date. Kind of like Doc Holliday, in "Tombstone," telling Wyatt Earp that Johnny Ringo was driven by seeking revenge for being born.

Horrible subject, though. You just have to recall that mythology is chockfull of bloody monsters.
