Get ready for the new "surge" in Afghanistan

I know folks like to say that "the generals" are the only sane people in the Trump administration. But they are the ones who have been pushing to increase troop levels in Afghanistan, and I think their agenda has won out.

Trump will announce tonight that more troops will be sent to Afghanistan to "win the war quickly and effectively" or something like that.

This is a direct result of the influence of McMaster and company.

2. By this time we can win every battle, take every objective, and still lose the war.

In 2001 to mid 2002 we could have killed O.B.L., kicked the Taliban out of
power, closed the Saudi run madrasass, done some work for the people,
and then gone home but no we made an endless quagmire that will in the
end a home of drugs, radical islam, and terrorists.

3. When the Generals are the Only Sane People In the Room

Some might argue that there is a really big problem when the generals are the only sane people in the room. It would seem that the civilians need to be the most sane people in the room. It should be the civilians pulling the generals back and not the other way around.

6. This is political war...and unwinnable. It is sad to see young men and women die for nothing.

Bring back the draft...no getting out of it...send Congress's kids and grandkids... Trump's too...it will be over in a month.
