I finished my movie and got up to ask for some water. The woman on Security Duty on my Air France flight between Washington and Paris was reading some French weekly with an unflattering photo of Trump and a cover story called "Trump's delirious pronouncements." I got to talking with her and the purser, and they just asked "how could you as a nation allow this to happen?" The only thing I could come up with is that the framers of the Constitution in 1787 never envisioned the kind of perversion of voting to allow for the election of someone like Trump. Therefore no quick remedy was included under the constitution. Madison would have puked at the thought of someone like Trump assuming the presidency, especially under the circumstances of the election of 2016. Europeans usually rant when they get bland, incompetent, useless bureaucrats to lead them (as they just suffered with Hollande). Hollande squeaked into the French Presidency with something like 50.2% of the vote. The idea of Trump assuming office with 3 million votes LESS than Hillary, even being aware of our system with the electoral college, is STILL incomprehensible to them.

two questions that we were asked one was about the ease of getting guns - this was two weeks after the Orland massacre. The other - how can Trump get so many votes.

But even back to the eighties. I had a visitor from abroad and he asked: with so many millions how can the best you produce is Ronald Reagan?

Those debates to me are just all too surreal. In any other election season it would have ended a campaign. Not last year, though. He seemed to get stronger.

...class. One of the participants was wearing a T-shirt that proudly proclaimed her to be "An Adorable Deplorable." We ended up choosing a different gym because I didn't want to be anywhere near that doofus.

No offense to religious people for my expletive.

But how is any one actually "proud" of being so goddamn stupid?
