In ancient times the eclipse was seen as a harbinger of ill fate

People would gather in their temples and cower in fear of the controllable. Gods were angered, economies collapsed, crowns would fall, witches were burned, and entire civilizations crumbled due to fear of the eclipse.

In other words, it was the ancient equivalent of “her emails”.

All this kind of bullshit in the news today proves is how complete colonialism still is.

Astronomy is simpler than people today are able to conceive, but the ancient people knew it well because they lacked geocentric bias and English language propaganda and dark age fundamentalist religions.
