I should have anticipated how weird we'd all look standing in the front yard staring up at the sky

...with these freaky little glasses on.

I'm in Md. and there's still a bit of time to the full event.

My own mid 30's son has a cardboard box on his head.

I'm going to take him a colander...

I stood in my driveway.

They probably thought I was going to go blind. I had eclipse glasses and wore wrap around sunglasses over them. I was taking pictures etc.

My holey spatula is all I had outside with me, but then our neighbor/landlord walked back to jaw about bucking-up a tree that blew over this weekend and we both missed it, forgot it was happening. It was only partial up here and I did get to see the moon begin the creep.

I love it when masses of people join together to go ape-shit silly over our natural universe. People don't pay enough attention to the Sun and the Moon anymore, but this Eclipse managed to get hordes of humans to simply look up. I wish I could have gone to see the darkness arrive somewhere...moon shadows.
