Amid reports that the destroyer USS John S. McCain lost steering just before collision with an oil tanker, experts have speculated the possibility of hacking as the cause of the incident.
The US Navy ordered an investigation into its entire 7th Fleet, based in Japan, after the incident in the Strait of Malacca early Monday morning. Navy Admiral John Richardson later clarified in a Twitter post that the review would include the possibility of cyber intrusion or sabotage.

(15,543 posts)Ya got to wonder when the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief spent so much time pissing on the actual honorable military service of the ship named after the family of Senator John McCain ?
The republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief would not stoop so low as to put his russian BFFs up to this heinous, traitorous shit, would he?

(4,940 posts)I think he'll make sure EVERY area is investigated. Hackers today are a LOT better than we anticipate. Not that it would necessarily be an anti-U.S. power that pulled it off, but if it was, and they killed/lost our sailors? Hell to pay, for sure - my dad-in-law would return from his grave to take some payback.

(7,768 posts)He says it's complicated but he feels basic training is mis-directed. Power point presentations aren't cutting it. Sailors are't getting real life scenario training on what to do when shit happens that they haven't been taught on computer programs or power-point.
The Navy is trying to save money by going this route and now it's biting them in the ass. He doesn't believe (at this time) that there is hacking or cyber intrusion.
He also said that the Navy is failing their recent major inspections, getting a majority of "Off track" grades.
He is pessimistic about the Navy now being an effective fighting force.

This is just basic shit. Maybe they're reporting this information but the officer on duty isn't processing it.
Whatever it is, something is very, very wrong.
