New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft gave President Trump a Super Bowl ring when the team visited the White House earlier this year, according to a new report. The defending Super Bowl champions told USA Today on Tuesday that they gifted the ring to thank Trump for being the first pro sports team invited to his White House.
A team spokesman said Trump got a customized ring similar to the one the team received. The inside of the ring is inscribed with we are all Patriots and greatest comeback ever, a reference to the Patriots' surprise comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 Super Bowl.
The spokesman said Kraft believed that out of all of the Patriots visits to the White House, this was the best. Trump and Kraft are longtime friends, and the Patriots owner said the team had longer access to the president than any of his predecessors.

Anyway, I think the Pats were just lulling the Seahawks into a false sense of security that day, letting them win! Belichick is a Sith Lord, that is totally something he would do...

(2,357 posts)to get Brady 5 rings, but what do I know? I did try throwing an underinflated ball once, it didn't go very far.
In other news, Aaron Rogers likes his balls overinflated. If the league actually cared they would not have had the teams take control over the game balls.
I am not sure how Brady's diet helps him cheat, but it seems to work well enough.

(5,042 posts).....you must be proud of your team and their unbridled love for Trump.
ExciteBike66
(2,357 posts)1.) Of course the whole team doesn't love Trump, just look at the Super Bowl celebration at the White House this year.
2.) 5 rings, none of which came from underinflated balls. The "underinflated ball" game against the Colts was a blowout with or without the balls.

(5,042 posts)Which is why another team suspected they were doing it months before and inquired and the NFL said "Oh yeah, well keep an eye on that (ha ha)".
Regardless of players declining to appear (many not on the team anymore) Booby and Belicheat were out in front practically performing oral on Dolt 45. Sad!

Who is "Booby"? Hope you don't mean Brady, since he skipped the event (such a GOAT move).
"Which is why another team suspected they were doing it months before and inquired and the NFL said "Oh yeah, well keep an eye on that (ha ha)". "
Which further goes to prove my theory that the league just didn't care. And if the league didn't care, perhaps it was not all that critical.
You claim that Rogers never actually messed with the balls, which is fine. My point is he said he preferred them a certain way and was never "caught" acting on that. That said, there is just as much evidence for his inflating the balls as there is for the Pats deflating them for more than a single game that was already going to be a blowout against the Colts.
RhodeIslandOne
(5,042 posts)He stated you send a ball a little over inflated so when the ref inspects it maybe he lets some air out and you still get the higher end of the inflation. Pre inspection, not after.
Meanwhile your ball boy was nicknamed "The Deflator", a bizarre fact you guys never have an explanation for, other than the guy was on Weight Watchers or something. Haw haw.
Booby is Booby Kraft, billionaire businessman who's not gonna let little shit like gay rights or Nazis get in the way of his tax cuts.
As for Brady, his wife probably told him to skip it. Of course, he also "missed" a visit with Obama (Ah, yes his parents anniversary, blah blah not the same day as the actual visit but oh well)
I'm sorry your team is so aligned with Trump. Best to just move on and deal with it. We know Belicheat hates the media like his good buddy. All those lies and fake news.
You're such a passionate fan willing to excuse them at every turn you should get a ring. But no, it'll be in Trump's 8X10 cell instead.

Honestly, probably every owner in the NFL would have attended the meeting, so Kraft really is not better or worse than anyone else. Shit, the Jets owner is an ambassador now, right? At least Kraft didn't go that route.
I have a question though. You seem to have a lot to say about the Pats, do you have a favorite team?
What deflategate comes down to is that Brady is the GOAT regardless of the ball air pressure. There is no way harder balls would have changed that Colts game.

I'm not sure what you mean about the cell. As a fan I don't give a shit about Kraft's relationship with Trump, because I am sure every billionaire owner is just as bad. Brady is the GOAT regardless of whether he likes Donald Trump. He may be a dipshit for supporting Trump, but that doesn't change what happens on the field.

Wow, ironic much? You claim Pats fans stoop to the insults, and then you trot one out yourself? Feel better?

(65,042 posts)Not a Pats fan. I think you're completely wrong about the under inflated football thing. So, what does pride in one's team have anything to do with this issue?
RhodeIslandOne
(5,042 posts)I understand there may be football fans who think it's no big deal and are not Patriots fans. That's cool.
I think they're a shady organization that got caught once cheating, and they embarrassed a commissioner who had a cozy relationship with them and he probably overstepped his bounds.
But in what way am I wrong about it? If they were deflating balls AFTER inspection, they deserve to be punished. I don't care what impact it had on any one game or not.
