Because weather records for the last million years must have some gaps.

I don't know how to obtain a URL from a tweet, but this: a Propublica tweet made at
3:52 PM today: ah, just figured it out (its in the Washington Post article):

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/08/27/texas-flood-disaster-harvey-has-unloaded-9-trillion-tons-of-water/‬

Some spots may get 50+ inches.

Many textbooks have the 60-inch mark as a once-in-a-million-year event.

Just repeating, not vouching for accuracy (as I said in my post, "just read&quot .

for those who pay attention. Remember Harvey was South of my island before he weakened in Central America.

By the way NHC will be initiating advisories at 5 PM EDT on Potential Tropical Cyclone Ten, located off the southeast U.S. coast. And another one rolls off Africa tomorrow,

This is going to be a wild season.

They did get it right this time. The next "every 1,000 years natural weather disaster" should be coming next year sometime.
