You cannot evacuate 6.5 million people with the infrastructure that Houston has, combined with the quickness of the storm's formation.

Yeah, I know people will be along to tell us that Texas is turning more purple. I'm not going to hold my breath.

They'll all just blame Obama or the media or Hillary or Mexico or anyone else other than their own politicians.

Schtroumpf won this state going away. Too many deep red counties to overcome the South and the major cities.

I'd say no based solely on my experiences as an OTR truck driver who spent lots of time in Texas.

The prevailing sentiment I ran into seemed to be that they enjoy suffering and misery, by electing those who will, at worst inflict severe damage on them, then re-elect them, or worse, in the next cycle. See Ted Cruz, Louis Gohmert,Abbot.

Again, this is only my opinion and perception, accrued over several years. I don't need opposing views clarified or 'splained to me. I trust what I saw and heard with my own ears and eyes.

"Texas is like a whole other country"... Yep, and that is one of its major shortcomings.

All that said, I do have compassion for them, most anyway, and wish them minor damage and a speedy recovery in the storm ravaged areas.
