and that some in the media are speaking more favorably of him for behaving in a relatively human-ish way. Trump can't fire Pence because he was elected, but he can sideline him if he isn't careful. VPs have no constitutional functions other than to stand by in case the president is incapacitated or dead, and to break a tie in the Senate. Trump could consign Pence to the official-funeral detail to keep him out of the media.
