Finally, sheriff Joe will have to explain himself

The trial in Melendres v. Arpaio, a class-action civil-rights lawsuit, is scheduled to begin Thursday in Federal District Court in Phoenix. The plaintiffs, represented by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, accuse the sheriff of waging an all-out, unlawful campaign of discrimination and harassment against Latinos and those who look like them.

It would amazing if this dude had to do some serious jail time for his abusive actions. He would find some really PO'd inmates if this happens.

My mom lives in Surprise, AZ. They LOVE Arpaio there. I would be shocked if the defense couldn't get rid of all their problem jurors during voir dire. So the odds of a conviction are slim at best.

To show his "proof" that Obama's BC is "fake."

It'll be the usual...long on accusations, zero evidence.

Besides, even if Arpaio lost this upcoming trial, who's going to pay?

Mariacopa county has paid out $40 million due to lawsuits against Arpaio.

The county's insurance pays the settlements.

Meanwhile Arpaio does his "I'm so tough" song-and-dance, and keeps getting re-elected.

Oh, well, I guess they are willing to fork over money for something... Take care, Archae.

Which, given the history, is sure to rise. Until the insurer cancels them altogether. Then they're really fucked.
