The Rush Limbaugh Quote That Is Clearly At War With His Best Interests

Like the professionals they are, we’re sure they’ll still haul him out of his home on a stretcher if/when necessary.

His commentary SHOULD read:

Police and firefighters are nice to have, but they take away from private sector jobs and contribute nothing to the economy, except when they pay taxes, buy food, pay rent/mortgages, buy clothes ...

It's fun discussing this "contribute nothing to the economy" narrative with his faithful, but dim, followers.

They don't seem to understand that the ONLY difference between government 1st responders and private 1st responders, in terms of economic activity, is the profit that is banked by the owners of the private venture. Both groups engage in the same economic activity.

But the real difference between the two, in real terms, is the private 1st responders will let you die, if their records show you are not current with your payments.

I'm pretty sure jewellery stores wouldn't exist and banks wouldn't contain money if there were no cops.

And that cop likely buys his groceries in his own neighbourhood and has a local mechanic fix his car.
