(14,586 posts)We supported Clinton in the general and voted for her.
In fact nearly 3 million more people voted for her.
That's the real problem, not Susan Sarandon.
In fact, all these things severely overshadow Sarandon:
1) the Russian hackers 'friending' people and swaying opinion in swing districts
2) Republican gerrymandering
3) Republican voter suppression measures
4) Russians hacking voter rolls in 38 states and creating chaos on election day
5) Russians running ads encouraging Bernie supporters to vote for Trump
Because for the first time, the Republican party has openly colluded with a hostile foreign power to win an election. This is called 'treason' and is punishable by life imprisonment. Yet a whole swath of the GOP at all levels actually did this collusion, committed this treason.
Now, we have nazis marching openly in our streets, people of color being deported while elite white Russian women flock to Trump hotels as 'birth tourists' whose babies have dual American and Russian citizenship upon birth. Anti semitism is on the rise and Republicans are quietly and systematically trying to take away our rights to demonstrate and push back in other ways.
So the Sarandon thing is not quite so important, and it certainly is not her fault that Trump is illegally squatting in the White House, making this nation a laughingstock. In fact, if we performed a regression analysis, I'd suggest points 1-5 above would be far greater contributors to cause than Sarandon, who probably wouldn't be significant in the least.
