Talking to a friend last night. Their employer was going to have a "Fun Day" yesterday. Employees could get up from their desks at 4 and go outside - burgers hotdogs - go get the kids "bouncy house" balloons - that sort of thing.
On Wednesday there was a very angry resignation by someone in management. This person wrote a very angry resignation letter and at the end of basically an exit interview they said very ominously "See you at Fun Day".
Fun Day was cancelled.

(82,849 posts)Sure hope that manager isn't going to need a reference for the rest of his/her life. I'm sure the kids of the firm were heartened to know that calling off their good time is just part of the freedom to be an American.

There is a difference between being safe and being scared.

(82,849 posts)If they're a short-handed department, "See you on Fun Day" isn't really a threat. Sure, if disgruntled ex-manager (DEM) shows up the next day and starts shooting up the place, the cops will make time to come by and shoot DEM eventually. But as a precautionary maneuver, I don't know. In my neck of the woods, the cops can't be bothered by much until the shooting starts, or, preferably, after it ends.
