(10,495 posts)Hard to say with little info but it appears their was a contested hearing on an issue. Most likely Defense attorneys fighting to protect the release of some information or prevent an interview with someone.
Mueller fighting pushback on the investigation on some front.

(13,421 posts)Mueller has run a fairly tight ship so far. Would somebody suddenly break ranks if they were close to getting one of the campaign people or even trump himself? It could happen, I guess, but I do think it less likely than the "orange moran" just flapping his gums because he was feeling frisky in a room full of guys with guns and bombs.
I don't doubt he knows the hounds are closing in. I do think he's gonna be so flipped out about it he'll go belligerent rather making jokes or trying to talk big. I look for him to try and fire Mueller before he accepts it's all done.

Maybe they're trying to get things set up to intervene before the moron goes off the deep end and installs a "bump stock" on the nuclear button.

(9,426 posts)been ugly looking in my estimation. He is 100% uglier in the last few months. REPULSIVE s-o-b. He THINKS he is some type of lady killer, but he attracts gold digging whores. No decent woman would touch the ugly, flat faced turd with a ten foot pole. Those clothes he wears are ill-fitting and not well made. I doubt that he is anywhere NEAR a millionaire. All hot air, like all things tRump. Putin really pulled a scam on this country by selecting this assh**le as president.

My biggest fear. Trump is going to start a bogus war to rally "patriots".

(2,050 posts)There has to be a breaking point for this nightmare, I think Mueller and others have realized that although the entire scope of the investigation may not be done they do have enough to start the ball rolling on someone.
And that it may be enough to head these traitors off at the pass or at least put a shot across their bow.
I remember reading that one of Muellers specialists went back to her job at the justice department as her work for Mueller was finished.
It's going to be a very interesting week.

(45,003 posts)like 'can we indict a sitting President?'
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)Mueller and his team might be asking the judge if a sitting president can be indicted or if the sole legal remedy for his wrongdoing is impeachment and removal. They might also be testing the waters, so to speak, to find out just how bold the judge might be in issuing a controversial ruling.

(12,344 posts)Mueller would have to officially indict Trump and argue his case in open court.

(43,181 posts)How will it play out? Who's in charge if a couple dozen lawmakers and admin officials are hauled off to jail? Perhaps even the top 2-3 guys.
Legally it's all clear. Politically not so much. FBI is not a political organization by nature. I know, Comey, 2016, on and on. Attempts to nuance non-indictments failed. They should just plow ahead and let the chips fall where they may. We have allies internationally, there are secure multinational organizations to monitor the world for awhile (UN, NATO, etc) while we get our house in order.
This must not fail if the U.S.A. is going to survive.

(13,421 posts)They've already demonstrated that they aren't afraid of some fairly aggressive tactics like that early AM no-knock warrant at Manafort's house. They just talked to Steele. What did they confirm with him that would leave them seeking a warrant?

(39,343 posts)He also asked the judges to clear a few weeks off their schedule because the arraignments would last for at least three weeks.
I kid, but I bet theyll have to ask several different groups about the logistics of the shakeup involved in turning the entire administration on its head.

(14,174 posts)IF all they can do is find circumstantial evidence. Or if they do find collusion they may only be able to prove it against one or two loyal true believers from his campaign that will fall on their swords for Trump. ( With the assurances of a pardon)
Or Mueller may only find business crimes to stick.
Either way Fox News and others in the MSM will use that to "Dan Rather" his entire actions and behaviour up until now. It will be 24/7 poor poor Donnie surviving a blatant attempt at Being railroaded by the evil Democrats.
You just know that all the moderate Republicans are just aching for some kind of excuse to validate their vote last November.

(3,827 posts)Schneiderman's probe in NY.
Democratic New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman won't comment on whether his office is working with special counsel Robert Mueller III, but said it would be "politically catastrophic" if President Donald Trump tried to interfere with the probe.
In an interview on Wednesday for AM to DM, BuzzFeed News new morning show, Schneiderman acknowledged that the president lacks the power to pardon people for state crime convictions a fact that has fueled speculation about whether and to what extent his office might be working with Mueller's team. But Schneiderman said he hoped that wouldn't be a factor.
"I think it would politically catastrophic if [Trump] either tried to shut down the special counsel investigation or starts pardoning people that are indicted for serious federal crimes," Schneiderman told BuzzFeed News editor-in-chief Ben Smith.
In August, Politico reported that Mueller was working with Schneiderman on an investigation into former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Schneiderman said he could not comment on ongoing investigations, but that any communication among prosecutors would be "unremarkable."
"I have a lot of regard for the special counsel. Hes got a broad mandate and appears to be pursuing it, and the fact that theres occasional communication with other prosecutors is really wholly unremarkable," he said.
