Please don't jump on me for bringing this up. It's an idea I'm tossing out, from frustration. So expand on it, or tell me why it's wrong, but no dismissive insults please (sorry, Im feeling very fragile these days).
We Democrats need someone strong to step up and possibly declare candidacy for 2020 or make some other extremely strong statement. Right now our party is scattered in many ways, and there is no strong voice of unity. Even if the someone is not one who actually intends to "go all the way", we need someone to step up and be a voice especially that the MSM can concentrate on. The MSM is like a herd of cats going after 100 different balls, they need to get focused. 2018 is just around the corner and 2020 is not that far off either.

(1,301 posts)And party of countering ideas. Im very excited about the upcoming primaries. I feel we are going to have a great field. A little big to start but it will come down in size. This party will never have one voice(when talking about a person) when not in power and it shouldnt.
I mean this very respectfully from another currently fragile soul.

(31,261 posts)Let our candidates fight their elections locally while we fund them. One national voice drowning them out is a bad idea.

(31,112 posts)But if we Democrats are known for one thing it is that we are NEVER one voice or agree on anything, and yet at the end of the day we are known for doing the right thing.
But I like the idea, problem is who gets the honor?
Has to be someone who strongly is identified with the party.

Also, I think a couple of front-runners will emerge after the mid-terms. It is still too early.
Dems have been doing very well in state elections. We are re-building right now. I am optimistic about all the young, exciting rising stars who are coming up through the ranks. I think the GOP looks drained and impotent in comparison.

(706 posts)The country is sick of politicians. The Rock is a independent but if he'd make up his mind to go Dem he could easily win. Damon is a Dem and could easily win. I think the EC map would be as Blue as it was Red with Reagan.
