. . . . . it was Two Scoops trying to be clever. When he got blowback, he went into no comment mode.
He is incapable of admitting to a gaffe. I believe when he said it he had nothing high profile in mind. He was talking about the military and their spouses who were in the white house for some event being calm and relaxed, but always ready to do what they're trained to do. "The calm before the storm".
Then the media was all over it and he saw the distraction he needed for all the real shit that's going on. So he played it to his advantage. This is exactly what a salesman with no scruples would do. It is who he is.

(1,822 posts)I think there's a part of trump that 1) loves the attention he gets when he says these ominous things and/or 2) thinks its a good idea for your adversaries to think you might be crazy enough to do it.
