4. The Weinstein Bros. are huge in the entertainment industry.

Years ago, Rose McGowan accused him of rape and was basically ignored. (I think he ultimately settled with her to keep her quiet.) To add insult to injury, she was engaged to director Robert Rodriguez at the time and Rodriguez sold Weinstein the movie rights to the flick McGowan was feature in at time of the assault. She was devastated by her fiance's betrayal and broke it off with him. It really radicalized her and she's been a voice for women ever since. I've always felt bad for her and have been kind of following the story.

I'm a fan of Quentin Tarantino, who is Rodriguez's best friend, is also close to Weinstein. As much as I hate it, I'm sure QT has some guilt in all this too. Damn. So disappointing.

It’s a big deal. He’s a major power player in the movie industry- particularly indie films, many of which went on to win Oscars.

I’m not gonna defend his actions, if true, just because he’s a Liberal. Women don’t deserve to be sexually harassed or assaulted, no matter who the perpetrator is. That said, Dems didn’t elect Harvey Weinstein their Presidential Nominee after knowing full well what he did. Republicans did nominate Trump having seen the Access Hollywood tape.
