(31,401 posts)And it was.
Pence flew from Vegas to the game. And then turned around and flew right back to California for fundraisers.
They had to have Secret Service check the stadium. They put all the attendees through special security.
Pence knew in advance there would be team members taking a knee. He had his marching orders from Trump.
It was a total stunt. And a very expensive one.

(779 posts)this Trump, could it be the same Trump who dishonored our troops like the Muslim who is buried at Arlington, whose parents stood up for Hillary during the election.
Is it the same Trump who called McCain a coward.
Perhaps it is the same Trump, who got out of joining the military during Viet Nam 5 times referencing a bone spur, but in fact it was cowardice.
And now with his lackey Pence he wasting my taxes to pull silly stunts.
(My husband is a disabled Vietnam veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star for saving lives)
I say leave the sportsmen alone, (they have a worthy cause)

Moron and Mommy's Boy wouldn't know true honor if it bit them in the ass.
The sportsmen are exercising their constitutional rights. Case close.

(59,504 posts)were less than amused that he called his indiscriminate sexual behavior his "personal Vietnam". Neither my husband and I ever served, but I was sick when he said that as it equates the genuine sacrifice of people like your husband who risked life and limb to his playing around.
As to the Pence stunt, in addition to the cost, it was a kick in the face for the Indianapolis team which was celebrating a former star.

No one has seen anything like it because the office has never been held by a man so small and petty.

(38,439 posts)Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The key word is...the 4th word................"no "...."no law"....it really is pretty simple..(and that is why they wrote it in a simple way.....
no law..........means "NO LAW".........
Now I am not sure when I learned about that word....no...but it was pretty early in my life..probably 2 or 3 years old...It is a word parents or loved ones always teach the very young child, or children, if you have more than one, like twins, triplets, etc..their young children............
"No law"...means..."no" law....none, zero, nada, 000000000000000000000000000000
get the picture...?..So pence cannot make a law, neither can trump..., neither can I, and neither can you.
Yes, the courts have ruled you cannot yell fire in a crowded theater, and you can't make up stuff and spread it around as truth...(, just an example..:."she is a whore"...and that person is the most non sexual person in the world, doesn't want it, never thinks about it ).....Spreading around a known lie, to injure someone is called .."slander"..that is against the law.......free speech does not cover "slander"...
Those are a couple of exceptions..there are not many..
Courts have ruled the "flag" is not sacred...yes they have..and it isn't. If we had Washington, and Jefferson and Madison right here,,,,the three would say....trump and pence are idiots...how did they get in????
What happened..?....
Well that is enough on this one...F**K trump and pence...send them back to school and learn the law..

(4,033 posts)is being respectful of our flag and country? If taking a knee is so horribly disrespectful of everything American, how is turning your back on the flag and walking out somehow 'respectful'?

(4,033 posts)So he didn't leave because the players protested, he left because....?
He refused to watch the game because some of the players exercised their Constitutional right to silently protest? If some Trump supporter did that they would be out the price of their ticket (which would be in the owner's pocket) and they wouldn't get to see the game and nobody would really notice. With Pence doing it, the taxpayers are out about $250,000 and he didn't get to see the game.
Whatever happened to: "...will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"? Or did the TP gang take a different oath, one that says: "...will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the flag and the national anthem of the United States"?

(82,849 posts)Shouldn't a good, patriotic American be focused solely on Old Glory while the National Anthem is being played? I wonder if young Mikey ever caught a sibling sneaking a bite of mashed potatoes while Dad was saying grace before a meal? The punishment for looking around when you should be concentrating on God is at least equal to any sins you might witness because you weren't.

(15,805 posts)Pence and the Moron thought this stunt was a winner. They wanted to bash a few players, but at the same time they insulted everyone else with their petty theatrical antics. Pence and Trump stole their thunder, they became the sole focus of the media, not the game, not the players, not the guy retiring, not the protestors, just Pence and the washed up celebrity who lives in the adult day care center at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
