I keep phoning and emailing day after day... WHERE ARE YOU? The Republicans are framing all of the issues... WHERE ARE YOU?
The country is in crisis... WHERE ARE YOU? Why are you not out on the capitol steps every day with a bull horn?
TAKE TURNS if you like but get out there and start demanding that the dangerous fucking moron in the White House be REMOVED.
Why are they not getting out in front of this parade? We cannot let guys like Corker and Kusinich own one single inch of the moral high ground, when they remained silent and let this monster take power.
Want to be president in 2020 Democrat? Get out in front of this and lead or stop asking me for money every time I email you to beg for action!
WHERE ARE YOU? So far, the Congressional Black Caucus are the only patriots to step up.

http://thehill.com/homenews/house/320018-democrats-raise-questions-about-trumps-mental-health
"A growing number of Democrats are openly questioning President Trumps mental health.
Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) in a floor speech this week called for a review of the Constitution's procedures for removing a president. He warned the 25th Amendment of the Constitution falls short when it comes to mental or emotional fitness for office.
Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) during a weekend interviewwith CNNs State of the Union said that a few Republican colleagues have expressed concern to him about Trump's mental health.
And Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) plans to introduce legislation that would require the presence of a psychiatrist or psychologist in the White House.
The Democrats justify their questions by pointing to Trumps habit of making demonstrably false claims. At a press conference Thursday, he said hed had the biggest Electoral College win since President Ronald Reagan, for example, when his margin was lower than either of President Obamas wins.
Blumenauer told The Hill he started taking another look at the 25th Amendment because Trump had casually repeated easily disproven claims, such as stating that it wasnt raining during his speech on Inauguration Day when it was.
Its not normal behavior. I dont know anybody in a position of responsibility that doesnt know if theyre being rained on. And nobody I work with serially offers up verifiably false statements on an ongoing basis, he said in an interview steps from the House chamber.".....(more at link)

(68,696 posts)Dems, we may snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Even if we did get the house, we need 2/3 of the senate...there is no point in an impeachment unless you can convict and remove from office...as the GOP learned in 98 the hard way.

(39,343 posts)Plus the Dems cannot impeach him alone. I think its safe to assume that if/when it comes to votes, that Dems will vote to toss him out of office.
trump is self destructing without our help. The repukes are starting to open up to the possibility that he may need to go. Were going to have to let them get to that point alone. They will not listen to us on this matter. We need the Corkers and Tillersons to attack him from the republican side of the aisle.

(28,394 posts)I watched an interview with him on MSNBC last night and I'm not sure that it was "Articles" of impeachment. They used a a lot of Congressional lingo about resolutions, etc. I think it was Chris Hayes who asked him if Nancy Pelosi told him to pull it back and of course he denied it and tossed around more procedural terms.
My impression was that the House democrats don't want to lead on this. It is a lot like when they would not do anything to or about the w. bush war crimes. Nada and now he is becoming an "acceptable" figure as a former president.

(11,879 posts)My point. is that they should have it dialed up to eleven and they simply do not. I understand that we do not have the votes ot impeach, but we do have the ability too agitate and that is not being done. It is not being done in the House and it is not being done in the streets.
Standing back and watching the fire does not work for me. Some "responsible Republican" will sweep in and suck up all of the oxygen and we will loose again.

(28,394 posts)I would like to see a more forceful opposition from the democrats too. I think there is a vacuum that needs to be filled with a firebrand who will ramp up the pressure on republicans to DO something already!
Sadly, I don't think this person is in the Congress right now and 2018 is a long way off.

(6,920 posts)The Democratic party is made up of people with minds of their own. I resent this kind of false equivalence, where the party to which Trump belongs, is given credit for having one or two percent of it's members actively oppose Trump.
Almost all Democrats oppose Trump and did from the beginning. That is not news.

(10,721 posts)Will Rogers recognized long ago that the Democratic Party isn't very organized.
Race-based voter suppression and gerrymandering are monstrous issues, yet Democrats hardly say a peep about those matters. Bill Clinton had to get "tough on crime," promote free market ideology and let us know "the era of big government was over." Democrats let Republicans get away with labeling the mainstream media as "liberal," without talking about media consolidation.
And so on.
The Democratic Party has not been a forceful opposition lo these past several decades. As a result, a batshit crazy political party controls the White House, the US House, the US Senate, most governorships and most state legislative bodies.

(6,920 posts)everyone is guilty of electing Trump, so I'm wondering why someone would blame Democrats for Trump.

I don't know why everyone thinks we have until 2018 to get this right. The moron is threatening to start a war, the west is on fire and Puerto Rico is slipping away. Where is the sense of urgency?
