Senator Bernie Sanders Delivers the Weekly Democratic Address

“President Trump and his Republican colleagues are now pushing the most destructive and unfair budget and tax proposal in the modern history of our country. A budget that would do incalculable harm to tens of millions of working families, to our children, to the sick, to the elderly, and to the poor,” said U.S. Senate Budget Committee Ranking Member Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

“At a time when the middle-class is shrinking, and over 40 million Americans are living in poverty, we need a budget that reflects the needs of working families of the middle-class, and not just the wealthiest people in our country, nor the largest campaign contributors. Our job now is to stand up, fight back, and to defeat this horrendous budget.” -Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

Last week was John Lewis, by the way.

And the previous week was Catherine Cortez Masto

But we all know how this board tends to be. I suspect that if Kamala Harris or Maxine Waters (both of whom I also like) does one of these that it would get posted here. Nothing wrong with that either, but people have their flash points, bot positive and negative. More of these weekly addresses should get posted at DU actually. And discussed.

His doing this address is the answer to your question!
I don't take sides in these Sanders wars, but:
1. The address itself makes your question illogical
2. Sanders did not pick himself for this address, dem leadership did.

It's obvious that DEMOCRATIC leadership thinks more of Sanders than some here on DEMOCRATIC Underground

seems hypocritical since he got on TV at a point when it wasn't clear whether it would survive a last-minute attack to push his own strange version of it which is already an option in the ACA.

Also, he fails to make any reference to Trump's latest executive order eliminating ACA subsidies. Granted he might have recorded this before he knew about it but it would have behooved him to keep his comments up to date so as not to misinform the public as to the continuing peril of the ACA.
