Next Month, There Will Be Very Important Elections

all across this country. Few people will notice, and voter turnout will be very low. Who's running in local elections where you live? Do you know their political positions? Are you planning to vote?

These odd year-elections, which are held in many states and jurisdictions, affect individuals in their communities far more than even-year legislative and Presidential elections. Yet, most people just blow them off as unimportant and not worthy of their time.

Low turnout means opportunity, folks. High turnout of Democrats can change local government, from the school board to the city hall and county board. If you don't vote, Republicans will decide for you.

Please study your local candidates and go to the polls next month. Bring someone with you to the polls. Your community is counting on you!

it's important to research candidates to determine where they stand. Most will have websites, these days. Read what's on them, paying attention closely. They won't necessarily identify themselves as Democrats or Republicans. You have to look at their positions.

If you have an active local Democratic Party organization, check with them for their endorsements, too. Check your organization's website for such endorsements.

The Right has been fielding candidates for local offices for years, and has managed to gain control of school boards and other local government bodies. They've been working hard at it. We need to pay attention to such races and turn out in higher numbers. That is how we win.

it will limit drugs for those on any government insurance...because if they can't get it at the VA price which they mostly don't even know what that price is...than the drug won't be available. It will also raise prices for drugs for people on private employer insurance as the insurers will make up any losses there...vote no on issue two.

'vote Democratic only'. Third party votes are a waste of time...voting against an incumbent who has an advantage naturally is a waste of time when you have nothing in terms of power.

NJ has no reason vote by mail, so I did it from work a few weeks ago. Our whole statehouse including the governor is up. I can't wait to kick Chris Christie to the curb.

Your point about local elections being nonpartisan is really important. People must learn. They cannot just vote a straight ticket. Many people new to local elections don't know this.
