Almost half of Republicans want war with North Korea, a new poll says. Is it the Trump Effect?

Almost half of Republicans want war with North Korea, a new poll says. Is it the Trump Effect?
By Aaron Blake October 15 at 8:30 AM

There was a pretty striking finding in Thursday's Quinnipiac University poll: Fully 46 percent of Republicans — a plurality — said they would support a preemptive strike against North Korea.

That's nearly half of President Trump's party that is ready for war — today — with Kim Jong Un, his nuclear weapons and all. (Forty-one percent said they opposed a preemptive strike.)

It’s no surprise that Republicans are more hawkish on this than Democrats are; that’s generally the case on foreign policy. But basically nobody is talking about the prospect of a strike right now. Even when Trump talks about it, he’s responding to North Korea threatening the United States or its allies.

They want America to rule the world under a Christo-fascist regime. This third makes up the majority of that half referenced in the survey. I am not surprised by this poll. They are the same people who want us to turn the middle East to a parking lot, innocent people and all. They are the ones who still believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. They are the people who say they can't possibly be racist because Lincoln was a Republican (ignoring the fact that emancipation didn't mean equality).

They are the representation of 'merica. In America we call them rwnjs but quite frankly there are people like this everywhere. They are trolls conviction even though that conviction is reprehensible and horrible.

Especially right wingers. They know don’t know the history of the Korean War. You folks are right in that they can’t find Korea on the map nor are they aware of the recent Russian/Chinese military maneuvers near Korea. Additionally they are not aware of the proximity of Russia to Korea.

These war mongers can’t do a simple cost/benefit analysis of the cost of war, let alone the moral issues that go along with such a decision.

Don't just tell us what drumpf whats to do, EXPLAIN to us what it would mean. Talk to generals and historians and economists about what this war would actually DO to America and the World. If they actually did that, actually gave a viewpoint other than drumpfs, the public would have a chance to have an informed opinion.
