Trump Recognizes That Starting a War Is His Only Key To Success

It is pretty easy actually.

1 . Start a war.
2. Equate support for troops with support for him.
3. Equate any criticism of his policies and actions as an attack on U.S. troops who are risking their lives defending our country.
4. Attack critics of him as anti-american and terrorists.

Look at the NFL. Trump has masterfully picked a fight with black athletes in order to stir up white resentment, then when they demonstrate against him, he throws police under the bus and says that they are disrespecting the flag even though their protests are largely directed at him. This is just a test run.

will not be a ground war where he can use the troops. This will be missiles and possibly nukes. S. Koreans will die as well as Americans stationed and living there, followed by Japanese and Hawaiians. If the Chinese get involved we are talking the West Coast. Not even his 46% will be happy about that.

5. WaPo - Almost half of Republicans want war with North Korea, a new poll says.

Also, do you think that Trump's base supporters really care if South Koreans die? They are not white. Heck, look at Puerto Rico. These are Americans, and Trump has not only ignored their needs, but he has made fun of them and blamed them for their suffering.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/10/14/almost-half-of-republicans-want-war-with-north-korea-says-a-new-poll-is-it-the-trump-effect/?utm_term=.96bee3f3d6e7

There was a pretty striking finding in Thursday's Quinnipiac University poll: Fully 46 percent of Republicans — a plurality — said they would support a preemptive strike against North Korea.

That's nearly half of President Trump's party that is ready for war — today — with Kim Jong Un, his nuclear weapons and all. (Forty-one percent said they opposed a preemptive strike.)

It’s no surprise that Republicans are more hawkish on this than Democrats are; that’s generally the case on foreign policy. But basically nobody is talking about the prospect of a strike right now. Even when Trump talks about it, he’s responding to North Korea threatening the United States or its allies.

Yet it also seems possible that Trump’s ramped-up rhetoric on this could be having an effect on his base. Trump in August promised “fire and fury” if North Korea ran afoul of him. Last month, he threatened in his speech at the United Nations to “totally destroy” the country — a threat that seemed to tie average North Koreans to their government’s demise. He has repeatedly called Kim “Rocket Man” and generally proved fond of the kind of saber-rattling we expect from the other side of this standoff.

More people will take to the streets in protest. He is more disliked then bush was at this point. We are a war weary country. I remember a maggot saying they didn’t support Hillary because she would take us to war and now Twitler is having a wet dream about starting one to pump up his numbers. The majority of people in this country dislike him immensely.

I agree that Russia would not support full scale invasion of North Korea. But, a shot bloody skirmish where the U.S. launches missiles at North Korea Syria style with North Korea killing a few hundred in South Korea would strongly strengthen China and Russia's role while isolating the U.S. as allies begin to distance themselves from Trump. At home, Trump gets to do his Hitler routine of us against foreigners. Finally, Russia and right wing media can just flood social media with fake news stories while Trump and his right wing cohorts decry real news as fake news.

The Bush Administration could have used Twitter to lie and promote their case about weapons of mass destruction to go to war with Iraq.

Plus, I am not sure if protests would even work if enough people are on board with a war. There were huge protests before the invasion of Iraq and it changed nothing.

I actually think that the military will act as a brake on Trump since I doubt they want another Middle Eastern quagmire. But I have no doubts that Trump could stir up at least half the county for a war using social media if he really wanted to. Trump already used Twitter to win the presidency. I used to think that the Internet would improve civic mindedness but I don't think that way anymore. 2016 showed us the potential to use the Internet to spread fake news and manipulate people. In some ways the new media is worse than the old media. There are right-wing YouTube channels that are worse than anything on Fox or on right-wing radio.

Those presidents could at least feign compassion and conviction. Trump can't do any. When he has to read a teleprompter with compassionate words and empathy, it's forced and fake. It would appeal to the basket of deplorables that already love him, but I hardly doubt the rest of the country would fall for his fake leadership and fake concern.

Having said that, we know there isn't much logic or rationale displayed by the moron. So if that's what he thinks or if that's what Bannon is pushing him to do to be successful, then that's what the moron will try to do.

Or, was it always present and is still present now? The difference is whether you have leaders and movements willing to stoke such resentment and whether liberals are can be marginalized not only by the right, but by the extreme left. Hitler rose to power in large part because many Germans were fearful of communists on the left.

This is all about him. I am surprised at how willing Democrats are to give him the benefit of the doubt. Oh, he won't start a war. But, if does, he won't use it as an excuse to roll back our freedoms. Really? This is a guy who was thinking about revoking NBC's license just because they ran a story about him asking a stupid question.
