STOP THE MADNESS NOW! A call for massive nationwide demonstrations.

We cannot wait for Mueller.

We cannot wait for the next election.

We cannot wait for the democratic party leadership.

The opposition to trump and his administration is rampant and growing every day. There is no better time to unite and mobilize the opposition into a massive stream of protest.

I do not at all mean to diminish the current protests. I thank everyone who is engaged. But we can/must do more and do better.

Where is the leadership? Do you know anyone with the pull to get this moving? Please, talk to anyone you know who could talk to someone to make this nationwide call. Anyone.

Thank you.

A group specifically dedicated to opposing the Trump administration but also going after the creators, cheerleaders, enablers, etc. of not just his administration but also to discrediting the very tropes and cliches that give comfort to his administration is being created.

It's all very skeletal right now especially because the people, myself included, have families and jobs too... but we can always use more people to help run it.

This is where we are meeting at (With a little bit of good info and more coming on the way):

you'll get no argument from me. but grass roots organization and mass demonstration are not mutually exclusive.

my point is that now is the time for someone with the power to do so, to call for all opponents of trump to come together.

it's that simple.

OK, fine, but AARP has, in the past, been an organizer for Medicare protests. I will write them and find out what their plans are. I will make a separate post and alert you to it when I get an answer.

We can't wait for the leaders of the Democratic Party to organize an effective counter-movement---every day it becomes clearer that we're now on our own. It's up to us as individuals to reclaim our country before it descends into a full-scale Bannonist dictatorship. Let's get busy, coast-to-coast.

The problem that is perpetuating this madness just because they want tax cuts for their big Donors! Trump would be gone already, if he would even be POTUS in the first place, if not for this problem.

The problem underlying it all is the money in our politics! The legal bribery of our former Representatives (they represent their Donors) is causing most of our problems!

sometimes the shorthand "get money out of politics" is used. that's fine.

what do you plan to do about it? I say mass demonstrations that unite all the threads opposed, not just to trump specifically, but to the corporate control of the state, in all its manifestations, is the way to move down the road progressively. there never was a better time.

The people fighting for action on Climate Change, Woman's Rights, Single Payer/Universal Health Care, Education, Immigration, Jobs, ... even the right wingers initially attracted to Trump because they wanted to "Drain the Swamp". They all have to understand that the fight cannot contain all of these issues at once, but know that if we break the hold that money has on our system they will get the change they need as a majority of Americans want to see these changes take place. The focus has to be breaking the control of the Donor Class has over our politics and media.

All of these groups of people have at the core of their issue an inability to get it done because of corporate/plutocratic interests who stall/block/defeat their issue through the purchase of our Representatives or by the use of the revolving door and/or industry appointed regulatory heads to guarantee they can do what they want.

Another front in this battle is the corporate media who have a stake in all of the campaign money and a fear of their corporate advertisers. Big changes would have to be made to our so called "News" to free it from influence from advertisers. The propaganda that brainwashed much of the right into believing all of this false BS and sowed hate and division.

When the news shows openly talk of the money/influence behind the tax cuts for the rich as to why Trump won't be removed, when they mention the Republicans who are coming out against Trump and in the same breath mention these people are not running for re-election but will not say openly that illegal Quid Pro Quo's are keeping the tax cut movement going, you know we have a problem! Demand investigations on quid pro quo in Congress! Publish at every turn who took what money from whom. Investigate every Super PAC to find out who is behind it!

This is obviously a huge re-making of our current society that would take a lot of people. The sentiment is there, just not the organization and a belief it can be done! In a society where our political pundits rank the likely-hood of who will win a race by how much that person has raised in legalized bribes (campaign money/obligations), it shows just how far the corruption has gone.

We need to gather leaders to our movement from all of these different interests to mobilize everyone and keep the movement going! The time to rid ourselves of Plutocratic/Fascist control is now when the sentiment and the need has never been greater is NOW!

There is an article on the greatest page right now about an MIT economist declaring much of the US a third world country. This is something the base and the party should be uniting over. The corrosive effects of plutocrat money in politics and government was the overriding theme of the Sanders campaign, and polls show would have carried him handily over DT were he the nominee.

I suspect that the paralysis we're seeing in the democratic ranks is due in part to bickering between those who see the issue like us and the donor class. The time is now for the base to wrest the decision from them, to make this the overarching issue that dictates the rest of the democratic platform.

I think one of the biggest root problem is the National Rifle Association. They have way too many of their people in Congress now, and they have a propaganda arm that is turning into a hate group at a very rapid pace.

Sure, money is a huge problem in our government but we also need to follow said money. The NRA poured hundreds of millions into the campaigns last year and it paid off big time for them. The Koch Brothers poured hundreds of millions into the campaigns and it paid off big time for them. Doing that will expose their donors (like it did the Kochs and Mercers) and it will set us free.

They started their own secret courthouse newspapers designed to influence jurors waiting for jury duty. They are pro corporate and slant everything. The story below is the only mention that they own the paper I have ever seen, and only because the story is about them do they mention at the very end in a short sentence that the Chamber owns the paper.

They also have the West Virginia record and the Louisiana Record. There is at least one or two more located in what they term "judicial hellholes" where local juries are not corporate enough.

I cannot get the link to work. The story is titled: The U.S. Chamber, 17 other groups seek to vacate CPFB arbitration Rule. Google them and read some of their stories. Plaintiff attorneys like me have horns and a tail where they are concerned while poor asbestos companies and insurance companies are getting raw deals!

They will further divide us. The American people need to develop a strategy that aims at the heart of the matter.
We need to show our strength in a way that affects those who would be capable of removing the lsos.
Following 9/11 I recall reading and article which laid out that the greatest calamity of the day was the halt of spending. The no fly period added to this as days went on and the money lords realized the real threat of terrorist attacks were to the economy. An economy that is totally dependent on cash flow.
I suggest we start with a day that we spend no money. Turn off the cash registers and on line shopping channels. Make only necessary due payments but buy nothing else.
Rock the Cradle America.

Most of my family & friends are not very political. But after the Con's inauguration they were all fired up & participated in marches & post card write-ins. One even chastised me for not going to the woman's march. I said, "I'll see where you're at in six months." "Oh this isn't going to die," she said. Six months later she couldn't be bothered to call Cory Gardner about the ACA.

Maui woman starts what could be largest Trump inauguration movement
Friday, January 6th 2017, 4:48 am EDT
By Chelsea Davis

HANA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Teresa Shook, a mother of two and grandmother of four, was never vocal about politics. But after Donald Trump's presidential victory, the Hana, Maui resident said she had to do something.

<SNIP>

After some help, the retired attorney created an event page, "Women's March on Washington," for the day after the inauguration in Washington, D.C.

"Went to bed with about 40 people coming, 40 maybes. And woke up to more than 10,000 coming and 10,000 maybes," said Shook.

Now the page has exploded to more than 160,000 people going. It's expected to be the biggest march related to Trump's inauguration.

The woman who started the Women’s March with a Facebook post reflects: ‘It was mind-boggling’
By Perry Stein January 31

Teresa Shook is back home in Hawaii, organizing the women in her state to rally for progressive laws and call their elected officials to speak out against President Trump.

The retired lawyer has had a whirlwind few months, and she’s starting to decompress and reflect on how she, a first-time activist, was able to launch the Women’s March on Washington with a single Facebook post. Now that the main event is over, she wants to ensure that she and people across the Hawaiian Islands remain in the movement to battle White House policies they think will set women and the country back.

“I wasn’t that political. Something happened in me with this administration that woke up my love for people and humanity and what this country stands for,” Shook said. “We’re prepared to just keep letting our voices be heard and not relenting. We have to make it really uncomfortable for the Trump administration.”

When the election results became clear Nov. 8, Shook needed a place to vent. She turned to the pro-Hillary Clinton “Pantsuit Nation” Facebook page and posted that she thought a pro-women march was needed. Others agreed. She hoped someone else would take the lead, but when no one did, she asked about how to make a Facebook group and did it herself.

The March for Science began with this person’s ‘throwaway line’ on Reddit
By Ben Guarino April 21

Three months ago, a member of the social-network website Reddit saw the headline for this Jan. 20 Vice article: “All References to Climate Change Have Been Deleted From the White House Website.” That did not sit well with Reddit user Beaverteeth92, who commented, “There needs to be a Scientists' March on Washington.”

Jonathan Berman, a University of Texas Health Science Center postdoctoral fellow, spotted the comment and created a Facebook page, The Washington Post reported in January. As the Facebook page grew — it now has more than 530,000 likes — the March for Science was born. Marches will take place on Saturday in Washington and hundreds of other cities.

Beaverteeth92 recently answered The Washington Post's questions about their role in the March for Science but declined to give an identity beyond a screen name. (Reddit users are often protective of their real-life identities, and a ban on publishing personal information is one of the site's most cherished rules.)
