A nightmare scenario has occurred to me

They remove trump* from office, by what ever means. Doesn't matter how but the removal situation does not extend to taking Pence out, too. Pence then chooses Kelly as his VP.

They have too much power. The republicans are way too far up the chain of command for democrats to get power if trump and pence go down.

No good scenario until 2020, Dems getting the house in 2018 could halt perhaps the worst scenarios.
