I’m reading Winter of the World, the second book in Ken Follet’s "Century" trilogy. The storyline is set in the 1930s, but could easily have been taken from reports of events taking place in 2017. It’s more than a little chilling in places, especially when some of the ugliest dialogue is echoed by current republican and White House voices.

Small wonder that Santayana's quote keeps running through my mind...
