The very premise is absurd. I would have an easier time believing Mick Foley or Don Johnson is President.

(16,646 posts)Ya know those pictures and stuff that at first look like an old lady, but when told, you suddenly realize it's a young woman? Well, that's what's happening here. What you thought you knew (saw) and what was real are two different things and now that we have had the "reveal", you can't resolve the two different perceptions. Unfortunately, Trump is reality and your vision was a mirage.
It ain't just you. Everything I believed about the US and humanity in general has been proven to be wishful thinking. We aren't evolving socially such that somehow the Nazis are a thing of the past. The Nazis are a recurring reality which will come around every few generations. So is racism, xenophobics, misoginy, and communal hatred in general. My jewish wife was told by her mother to remember "don't ever think they'll never come for you". That is turning out to be quite prophetic.
