(6,045 posts)But this time if it is a ton circumstantial evidence that proves what everyone with a brain knows...TRUMP & his minions worked with the Russians to win the 2016 election for POTUS...But there are not multiple smoking guns proving there was a game plan who it involved & who lied about it & so & on then we will be, as you said & I fear, "underwhelmed"...It will empower TRUMP & his CULT to a point where TRUMP will become invincible in terms of forcing him to follow the law & the Constitution!
Hell, he has already told the GOP Congress to the GOP led Congress to go F*** themselves he is not going to implement the new Russian sanctions & they're too scared of his CULT to try & force him!!
...The only way to stop him will be through elections & even that will become a lot harder because a lot of people out there will just hear how TRUMP was mistreated by the LIBERAL MEDIA & run back to TRUMP!!
...Scary to even think about!!

From Reuters:

Former CIA director James Woolsey pitched a $10 million contract to two Turkish businessmen to help discredit a controversial U.S.-based cleric while Woolsey was an adviser to Donald Trump's election campaign, three people familiar with the proposal said.
Just eight days after formally joining Trump's campaign as an adviser on national security issues, Woolsey met on Sept. 20, 2016 with businessmen Ekim Alptekin and Sezgin Baran Korkmaz over lunch at the Peninsula Hotel in New York, they said.
Woolsey and his wife, Nancye Miller, proposed a lobbying and public relations campaign targeting Fethullah Gulen

It is so hard to keep the cast of characters straight.

A huge cast of characters.
Some brilliant, some dim witted (can't imagine who plays that role).
Some honorable and some venal (again).
Some probably sleeping with or groping with others.
Lots of allegiance changes as if there were ever any real allegiance to anything other than power, money, sex, and Narcissus.
A long tedious story. Usually ending in one empire crushing another and the plebes suffering the vast majority of the losses.
Ahhhh, Romanticism.
Except this is a grade-C horror pulp documentary.

(15,328 posts)Now we need to invoke some deep diviners of souls. Unfortunately, all we have is the American Psychiatric Association saying we can't divine those things from afar, and several quacks with certificates on their walls saying this thing is "wholesome".
And, when is the last time that "phantasmagorical" was used on DU?

(7,690 posts)2 so far.) Having been a professional (classical) musician all my life, I know the power of thought... as in: if I walk on stage thinking, "Oh dear God I am going to fuck up royally," it's more likely to happen. (BTW, of course one always has to do the work before going in front of an audience.) If I go on with, "Let's roll! And have fun!" it's more likely to go that way. That's my experience, anyway.

I wonder what people will think when they dig it up in the future. I hope and dream my efforts are working in some small way. I feel so helpless and frustrated sometimes.

Mark A. Brown, a casino industry veteran who before Saipan worked at properties in Cambodia, Macau and Las Vegas, got his start as a protégé in Mr. Trumps Atlantic City casinos, eventually rising to the position of chief executive of Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts.
Trump protégé makes for a good story, Mr. Brown said in an email. But, he added, the facts are we have many prominent individuals on our board of directors.
They include R. James Woolsey, a former C.I.A. director who sits on the board. An advisory committee announced by the company last year to provide strategic and tactical advice on its business and government relations included Louis Freeh, a former F.B.I. director, and Ed Rendell, a former governor of Pennsylvania.
American prosecutors have charged a number of individuals connected to two Chinese contractors with illegally harboring and employing immigrant workers in Saipan. Among them, the F.B.I. said, were agents for MCC International Saipan, a local affiliate of a big state-run contractor, China Metallurgical Group; and for another mainland company, Nanjing Beilida New Material System Engineering. Representatives of both Chinese companies declined to comment on Thursday.
