Those guys are going to prison. Not only that, but the mortgage fraud was probably a violation of state laws, which gives additional pressure that even a desperate Trump can't take off them.

Six pages listing transactions through third parties originating in Cyprus for millions of dollars of purchases in the USA.

For example $934,350 for an antique rug vendor in Alexandria, Virginia.

$849,215 at a men's clothing store in New York City.

The document uses the words "lavish lifestyle".

DMP International was a Manafort firm that received at least $17 million from the Ukraine. So Manafort's firm sold a building they owned to the Ukrainians? Any Trump transactions that sound vaguely like this one?

Oh I forgot. Wilbur is a banker and they always get away. Even if all they do is laundering money for the Russian mob / ie Putin's gang.

In the end, it shows either a dereliction in tRump's judgement in surrounding himself with all of these corrupt individuals, something only a complete naive fool would believe. Or it shows where Mueller is headed next, up the chain to the pResident, the only person who ties all of these mobsters together.

what might be happening next!

The indictment contains 12 counts: conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.

... I guess that makes them enemies of Putin.

Am I right? Putin hates the Ukraine and has been trying to take it over ever since the Soviet Union split up.
I'm no expert on Russian politics but there's something underhanded going on here (besides the obvious.)

It looks like we're doing Putin a favor. As in "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Just sayin'

playing both sides for riches or working with those in Ukraine who want to be in the Putin block. In the end what they did was help putin destroy our election process.

... but I'm not sure if I made my point clearly.

Manafort and Gates took a lot of money from the Ukraine, and promoted the Ukraine's business interests in the west (the USA and other countries.) So that makes them Putin's enemy because Putin wants the Ukraine independence to fail, and come under his wing. Russia and Ukraine are not very friendly, but some Ukrainians want to side with Putin against their own government.

Putin worked with (colluding and manipulating) Trump's kids and colleagues and got him elected by nefarious means. Putin must have been suspicious of Manafort, and possibly asked Trump to fire him before the election. We know that Trump did fire Manafort in August last year, but nobody knows if Putin ordered Trump to do it. If it is documented then Mueller probably has the info already and it will come out in the trial, I suppose.

So now the USA is prosecuting Manafort who worked for the Ukraine/against Putin and Russia. It's illegal and treasonous yes, but maybe we're making Putin very happy by doing him this favor. Am I reading this correctly?

they could care less about Ukraine or Putin. Why they did it doesn't matter, the fact that they broke laws is all that counts. Putin does't give a shit either way, he is untouchable. He got what he wanted in the end so he's a happy fascist pig.

Most Ukrainians didn't want that, they wanted closer ties to the EU.

They began to protest. Yanukovych cracked down on the protests and more than 100 people died.

The protests didn't relent and Yanukovych ultimately chose to flee the country for Russia.

Several days later, Putin invaded Crimea and several months later a pro-Russian insurgency popped up in Eastern Ukraine.

Yanukovych, Manafort and Putin were all on the same side. Trust me.

25. This is from a June 2017 New York mag article on Manafort's lobbying:

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/06/manafort-firm-made-usd17-million-for-ukraine-lobbying.html

Paul Manafort became the second former Trump campaign official to retroactively register as a foreign agent on Tuesday, following former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Manafort, who stepped down as Trump’s campaign manager following reports about his work for a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine, disclosed that his firm earned $17.1 million between 2012 and 2014 from former president Viktor Yanukovych’s Party of Regions.

The filing shows that Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates, who also worked for the Trump campaign, gave “strategic counsel and advice to members of the Party of Regions regarding their interaction with U.S. government officials and other Western influential persons to advance the goal of greater political and economic integration between the Ukraine and the West.” The firm also counseled the European Center for a Modern Ukraine, a pro-Yanukovych nonprofit.

Manafort’s firm was hired to help rebrand Yanukovych and the Party of Regions from a pro-Russia party to a pro-European Union party.

Now I'm wondering why Trump fired Manafort. I guess it wasn't Putin's idea.
There's nothing about that in the indictment brief.

But this article does explain it better.
