(1,142 posts)Where do you get the idea that he tried to flee?
I know it says he was picked up at the airport but doesn't seem to indicate if he was leaving or arriving? And it looks like he is a cooperative witness, some even suggested that he may have gone as far as to wear a wire in other threads.
So I am curious as to where you arrive at a conclusion that he was trying to flee?

(1,142 posts)According to the updated Washington Post story, he was arrested upon returning from Germany
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/manafort-and-former-business-partner-asked-to-surrender-in-connection-with-special-counsel-probe/2017/10/30/6fe051f0-bd67-11e7-959c-fe2b598d8c00_story.html?hpid=hp_no-name_no-name%3Apage%2Fbreaking-news-bar&tid=a_breakingnews&utm_term=.109fd5378bd3
Papadopoulos ultimately admitted to lying to the FBI about his interactions with people he thought had connections with the Russian government. He has been cooperating with investigators for three months having been first arrested and charged in July after landing at Dulles International Airport on a flight from Germany and has met with the government on numerous occasions to provide information and answer questions, according to a court filing.

(But his pleading guilty might not be so dumb)

Tried to flee? July 27th? There is no indication here about arrival at Dulles, arrival to catch a flight, arrival from returning flight?
So what am I missing, because I have been following this Russia thing as closely as I can?
