cookie and kept everything under wraps until he was ready. Manafort and his partner were probably blindsided by the Papadopoulos plea. They'll have to flip soon too to avoid 10+ year sentences.

There was an article posted here, I don't remember who posted or wrote it (Josh Marshal?)

But I agree with the points. It took several hours before it was announced about the Papadopoulos arrest and plea. There was also wasn't any reason to make it public that Papadopoulos was arrested and pled guilty.

The WH was claiming the Manafort/gates charges have no connection to trump. Popadopoulos' charges were announced as a warning to others that Mueller knows a lot more so watch out, you may be next.

Mueller is shaking the trees to see what falls out.
