Bernie Sanders got sucked in to a local dispute between Bill De Blasio and Andrew Cuomo

...who are squabbling about, well, everything, but for the moment a proposal to introduce congestion tolls to drive into Manhattan. De Blasio had a press conference w/ Bernie (in town for De Blasio's campaign rally) to trash the Governor's first "Fix NYC" Commission meeting.

No good will come of this.

Most NYC residents don't own cars, much less drive them to work. The people who do can afford the additional tolls, which would be targeted at mass transit improvements.

when i read about this earlier, I got really irritated. (And I'm team De Blasio re: subway fights bc I think Cuomo is a real schmuck who's passing the buck.)

...a fan of either. Andrew is NOT his father, and not impressed with DeBlasio, either.

But they are just two obstinate politicians, I can't understand why they don't get together privately and hash out their differences instead of having this long-term cold relationship.

Not good for the city or the state.
