His tarmac visit with Attorney General Lynch was ill-informed and he should have known better. It created noise where none was needed. Further, it opened the door to the statement by FBI Director James Comey, in lieu of General Lynch.

Mr. Clinton's impetuousness caused avoidable problems for his wife's campaign.

all i'm saying is that if republicans went ape over hillary's husband meeting with the attorney general, then surely they would have to have a problem with donnie himself meeting with the attorney general.

but no, of course they won't....

I hadn't thought of that but it would make sense. The Atty-General cannot discuss legal strategy with the President if either of them believe he is an FBI targets.

In any event, there is nothing illegal about Trump and Sessions having lunch. While witness tampering is illegal, just having lunch isn't witness tampering, so to say "it could be illegal" assumes many facts not in evidence.

And until either of them are charged, there's really not much of a foundation to build a case on.

WJC/Lynch had no legitimate reason for meeting, and in the context of what was going on, it was somewhere between "terribly stupid" and "outright illegal," depending on whose opinion you believe. The optics were horrible, regardless of your opinion on the topics discussed.

Trump and Sessions, as acting President and AG, have any number of legitimate reasons to meet...many of them neccessary to the performance of their jobs.

Not saying at some point this won't be an issue, but as of now, it's really premature.

Attorney Generals and the Presidents should never meet, or if they have to it should be very restricted. That means there should be other people there so there is no "collusion". The reason is the the President doesn't get to tell the Attorney General what to do.

And though a lot of us rolled our eyes at the optics of the tarmac meeting, we also know the Big Dog is friendly and hates to pass up an opportunity to schmooze with friends.

Personally, not being a Republican, I believed what he said at the time. Seriously, what sort of illegal collusion is going to be carried out like that? Unless the colluders are, you know, one of the Trumps.

Trump will produce a waiter as a witness:

Did you hear anything about Russia?
"No sir."
Did you hear anything about the Mueller Probe?
"No sir."
Did you hear any conversation at all between Mr. Trump and Mr. Sessions?
"No sir."
What is your name, for the record?
"No sir."
Do you have the faintest idea what I'm asking you?
"No sir."
What is your native language anyway?
"No sir."

We'll never know what was discussed, anyway.

a suspect or witness in the whole Trump/Russia affair BACK IN FEBRUARY. Lots of pathways to Russia, including that his Chief of Staff is directly connected to Alfa Bank as lobbyist. Unbelievable.

If true, Seth is right. Crazy risky for Trump and Sessions.

(This blogger was also on top of trump tower servers, wikileaks hacks, cambridge analytica, money laundering banks, etc...WAY back in January and February). Lots of interesting old posts.
