(17,380 posts)Very few people remember the name Alexander Butterfield, who was a rather obscure staffer in the Nixon White House. But I remember watching the Watergate Hearings when Butterfield confirmed the existence of the Oval Office recordings (hinted at earlier by John Dean), which eventually led to the fall of the Nixon administration.
So, I would never slough off even the most miniscule witnesses.
