An influential Senate Democrat has "serious concerns" about Sam Clovis's nomination to be the Department of Agriculture's chief scientist after court filings reveal he may have encouraged a Trump campaign aide to coordinate directly with Russia.
Sen. Debbie Stabenow is the top Democrat on the Senate Agriculture Committee, before which Clovis President Trump's national campaign co-chairman is set to appear next week for his confirmation hearing.
"The emerging information about his role in the Trump campaigns interactions with Russia raises serious concerns," the Michigan Democrat said in a statement to USA TODAY. - USA Today

(8,700 posts)She didnt have serious concerns before that!?!
That 45IQ nominated a person with no scientific credentials or education and no experience or education in agriculture and a major climate change denier, to the top scientist position of DoA?
No serious concerns until now??
Sorry, that just irks me.

Betsy DeVos - Secretary of Education - knows NOTHING about education regulations, only how to promote privatization and profiteering in the "education business.:
Scott Pruitt - Head Administrator of EPA - sued the EPA as Attorney General in order to weaken the EPA's control of the environment.
REALLY???????
Let's see how many foxes we can place in charge of the hen house!

There was some confusion on the matter, Senator Stabenow has always opposed his being approved.

We can't all know everything. There's just not enough time in our lives to manage that feat.

Plus, I'd tailor ever question to bring up his involvement in working with a hostile foreign government as a U.S. citizen.

(13,424 posts)So it was Sam the anti-science Sham who was the "campaign supervisor" referenced in the Papadopoulos indictment.
Wow. The connections between all these creeps will make it difficult for anyone who worked at the higher levels in dump's campaign to contend that they weren't involved in colluding with Russia.
I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, hope that this pile of dung withdraws his nomination. Of course, these people have no shame, which means that he needs to be stopped if this ridiculous nomination goes forward.

(4,533 posts)Clovis is also a cooperating witness for Mueller. Better to have him in the Trump admin wearing his wire than to have a Trump loyalist
But of course Repubs wont vote for him now that his cooperating witness status has been revealed.
