When we got rid of the convention to pick our candidate for the primary system we

no longer have any say or selection on who will run in 2020.

It is up to anyone who has the money and the ability to gather a following.

It also has been busted wide open to expect the candidate to have any knowledge of the constitution or to be of good character.

So why are spending all this time pretending we have anything at all to say about who runs or not.

6. The candidates decide. There will be lots of candidates in 2020 just as there were in 2008

There were five candidates in the beginning of 2016 as well.

Who elects or appoints the representatives to the presidential convention? What role do various special interests and big money groups/individuals play in that?

7. Who exactly forced Lincoln Chaffee to run in 2016? Or Bill Richardson in '08?

to get in 2020 but not 2018 because they want the top and not a second string Senate or House seat.

But they will make the decision and not any party.
