Most if not all of us believe that Howard is the best, if not the only person who can rapidly turn the Dem party around, in terms of both infrastructure and focus? It's obvious that the national party has done almost nothing but lose fights they should win: the presidency, House, Senate, governorships, state legislatures, and secretaries of state/state Election Directors. Dr. Dean has done it before and knows how to do it again.
I am NOT talking who did what to whom, when, where or how. At this point, it's irrelevant, and blaming individuals is counterproductive. I'm not talking about the current Chair and co-chair, other than the fact that they may be the wrong choice for a party that has lost a lot of steam. I am ONLY concerned with what can be done right now to turn the DNC around so it actually functions as it should.
So, does anyone have any idea of how to make Howard Happen?

(1,459 posts)How about we bring out Dukakis or John Edwards?
Clinging to the past and especially to people who have already failed is a huge part of how 2016 happened.

(16,374 posts)His 50 state strategy led to veto proof majority in the Senate, big majority in House plus the presidency. As soon as he was pushed out by Rahm Emmanuel in Januarhy of 2009, we started hemorrhaging votes, and the bleeding has continued to this day.

(1,459 posts)... but the reason we lost last year is that we look exclusively to the past for strategy and policy and end up fighting the battles from the last big election.
These people grew up in a different political era and that creates a fundamental understanding of how the process works.
It's fucking ridiculous that the party of old white people has a superior ability to look to the future and adapt than we do.
Is it too much to ask that we get someone who has a chance of relating to the current generation and stop relying on people in their 70s and 80s?
