Helicopter carrying officials crashes in Saudi Arabia

A helicopter carrying senior government officials has crashed in the Asir Region in southwest Saudi Arabia, killing an unknown number of people, local officials say. Only few details were immediately available. (more)
The incident happened late on Sunday afternoon local time when the aircraft disappeared from radar over the kingdom's Asir Region. The aircraft was carrying a number of regional officials, including Prince Mansour bin Muqrin, the deputy governor of the Assir region.
The exact number of people on board the aircraft was not immediately known, and their fate is still unclear, although local media have reported fatalities. Prince Mansour bin Muqrin is the son of former Crown Prince Muqrin al-Saud.
