Sarah Huckabee Sanders, I never stopped talking about gun control.
If you do not believe me, come tell me to my face, you liar.

(14,565 posts)Friends I've known won't care about this at all. They can still convince themselves that their guns have saved their lives and lives of their family members multiple times. Dozens of times.
It's only when you ask them to detail those episodes that they get testy and profane and incoherent.

(1,835 posts)Then, ummm, no, now is not the time to start talking about gun control. it's toxic and only plays to a strength of Donald Trump. Not to mention riles up his crazy base to vote. We need to focus on Russia and the GOP inability to pass anything or do anything in Congress of any substance or benefit to Americans whatsoever. The Supreme Court, 5-4, will just strike down any gun control attempts anyway.
Guns may be your top priority but my top priority is having Nancy Pelosi acting as a constitutional unimpeachable check on the insane, mentally unhinged, unbalanced, Russian bought and paid for Donald Trump as speaker of the next congress. Not to mention seeing Paul Ryan suffer the fate of Dennis Hastert!
No culture wars until we have the presidency and strong majorities in both houses please!

(25,586 posts)But I'm hardly going to reason you out of position you didn't reason yourself into, and I agree with the basic premise that we need to control firearms more stringently, so I won't further pursue this silliness.

(491 posts)elected by rural districts where it is still safe to keep your doors unlocked at night and guns are seen as being helpful for hunting and home protection because the nearest cop is 30 minutes away.
For the majority of America, gun violence is not seen as a problem. The chance of being killed doing your job as a farmer is FAR greater than your chance at dieing of gun violence.
