Intended targets of Texas church shooting. They weren't there

Have there been reports as to why they weren't?

I havent read or heard of any reasons.

Reason I'm wondering is did they have reason to fear due to threatening texts but not tell anyone?

3. I had the same question when I heard about it.

Thank you for your answer. I'm haven't been following it closely enough to hear the answer. Stop accusing someone because they asked a question. Rude.

5. Rude, but apparently the mother-in-law was getting aggressive texts previously

So it's worth looking at even if it makes us uncomfortable.

6. It wasn't an accusation though..

If it said they did not tell anyone, that would be an accusation. Asking if the targets got warning texts and didn't tell anyone is just a question. I could ask if you played a part in the shooting, I wouldn't be accusing you, just asking.

7. There's just asking, and there's just asking which implies blame.

The OP is an example of the latter.

Reason I'm wondering is did they have reason to fear due to threatening texts but not tell anyone? {Implied: if they had reason to know but didn't tell anyone implies that they should have.}

I had the same reaction to the OP as the first response - here we go again, blaming the victim for not reporting, just like blaming an initial rape victim who did not report for subsequent rapes.

8. I suspect that even if they didn't attend

due to the threatening texts, they figured they would be avoiding an ugly, public scene, not a mass shooting.

I'm betting those people feel terrible about all that has happened and it is NOT THEIR FAULT in any way.

Then again, maybe they were up late and decided to sleep in and attend the late service. We don't know and it is none of our business.

9. Good question, but I can't figure out why the shooter didn't check the parking lot

for their cars or find some other way to verify his targets were actually there before beginning his rampage. It would seem if he was so committed to taking them out that he would end his own life over it, at least he would make sure he was actually getting his most intended victims.

They're full of rage.
They are impulsive.
They know they are going to die.

Maybe not seeing their car made him more raged.
