"Texas Victims Are In A Better Place. They Are In Heaven" I Can't Take It. . Want To Scream.

If I hear that "They are in a better place" bullshit response from the religionuts again I will just want to scream. We are truly totally out of our God damned minds in this country. At least some of us are. And the political response by pro NRA types want so make you spit nails.

I am losing faith that the country is savable. 75 and more people killed in various shootings in less than 6 weeks. These dumb as Christians deserve to be mocked. They are not in a better place. It is as crazy as the 72 virgins jihadists believe.

Such rhetoric does not solve the problem. It is denial in its purest form.

It's just another way for people to slough off their fears and grief. No, they're not "in a better place." They are no longer alive. Their lives have ended tragically. There's no way around that.

First of all they do not get it and they never will. And their ilk will continue to appose ANY gun legislation. And they would stand in the way of ANY efforts to reign in this violence.

A person could be in excruciating pain from a galloping cancer, but physician-assisted suicide — I actually read this — “deprives one of truly sharing in the Passion of Jesus Christ.”

It’s a fundamentalist-ultimate-version of “no pain, no gain.”

to gun down dozens of helpless people because the victims will be so happy in heaven. This coldhearted apathy and a macabre indifference to gun violence says, sure, go grab your guns, boys and lets shoot up another church, a movie theater, or some schools, and send everyone to Jeebus! These so called 'believers' worship guns first, and they are more than willing to sacrifice their own children, families and friends on the goddamned NRA's bloodstained altar.

See, if people mourn or cope with the ineffably sad in the wrong way, the best way to win them over is to belittle them and ridicule them. Throw in a heaping helping of "I know what's best for you," garnish liberally with "Even though I don't know you at all, I know exactly how you think and it's totally wrong," and you've got the fool-proof remedy for winning hearts and minds.
