Of course Trump wasn't the only one. But when the so-called POTUS publicly gives a big EFF YOU to the country, it makes it much easier for other candidates to follow suit.

the fact that one of the democratic candidates also did not release his taxes compounded the problem of Trump not releasing his taxes. Now they can say both sides did it.

... as part of their schtick, then the candidate might want to keep their wealth "private".
